Aiden Swallow is running

for US Congress in

Arizona’s 6th Congressional

District to establish

economic stability for the

working class and restore

equal rights for all.

For many Americans, the military is the only way out of poverty, and it was for me as well

Aiden Nicholette

Swallow

I grew up extremely poor. Often only having $20 or less a week for food and gas, among the family. Early on in my childhood I learned I only had one way out of poverty. Despite the War on Terror underway, I decided to join the US Army in 2006 as a Human Intelligence Professional. For many Americans, the military is the only way out of poverty, and it was for me as well. I stayed in the military for nearly 20 years, culminating at the rank of SFC (E-7), deploying to two combat zones, Iraq and Afghanistan, and conducting national security investigations in Southwest Asia.

Towards the end of my career I realized I was transgender, and …

I had to make the scariest decision of my life yet…

Whether to come out, and be my authentic self, unapologetically and unequivocally, or ...

I could continue to live a lie.

Little did I know, in 2025, that choice would cause me to be unjustly removed, with no retirement, from the military because of hate, misinformation, and misunderstanding.

I am running for US Congress today because I will be seen.

I will be acknowledged.

I will be true… and so should you.

Congress needs a fighter.

One not afraid of saying no.

One who is willing to challenge the status quo.

One who doesn’t toe the line for the Republicans or Democratic Establishment.

One who fights for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or economic status.

I am that fighter.

I am that change.

I decided enough is enough. I could no longer complain that ‘someone needs to step up’. It was my turn to step up!

THE PLATFORM

There is absolutely no reason why, in 2025, Americans are losing rights or treated wrongfully.

There is no reason, that in the richest country in the world, Arizonians live paycheck to paycheck or have to choose between healthcare or food.

Arizona SHIELD

Arizona Stable Healthcare Inclusive for Everyone to Live Dependably.

Arizona SHIELD was created to shield all Arizonans from the horrors of the disastrous H.R.1, passed by Congress on July 4th 2025.

Arizona SHIELD is meant to be a stopgap to prevent Arizonans from going without healthcare, accommodate for high medical costs, and supplement people who can’t get essential healthcare services with the healthcare they do have.

What Arizona SHIELD is not:

1. Healthcare insurance

2. Negotiator for healthcare providers or insurance

3. A loan

Arizona SHIELD is a non-profit organization. Donations to Arizona SHIELD goes to fund healthcare costs to Arizonans. Arizona SHIELD also vows to work with organizations with similar missions and goals

Restore Democracy

Congress has, for the most part, ceded their power to an unconstitutional President hell bent on ruining this country. Nearly all of the Republicans, to include Juan Ciscomani, are cowards who toe the line for this pedophile, rapist, criminal, and half the Democrats are inactive or corrupted by billionaire lobbyist.

I vow to never take Super PAC money or get corrupted by billionaires. I can accomplish this because I have no desire to be a career politician. I am running to make a difference. Once I make a difference, I have no issue letting another, younger person take over after me.

Donald Trump should not be the President. He should have been impeached months ago if the Republicans and Democrats had a spine.

Well I have a spine. The President is not my boss. The Minority and Majority Leaders are not my boss. The Democratic Establishment is not my boss. My constituents are my boss.

Term Limits

I have no desire to be a career politician, and neither should anyone else. Keeping Congress competitive ensures that qualified and young people continue to become leaders. Young people represent a demographic that is severely underrepresented in Congress.

Millennials and Gen Zs are going to have to live in this world, and, ultimately, live with the consequences that Boomers and Gen Xs start.

Tax the Rich

I propose raising the taxes on everyone who makes over $1,000,000 (1 million) annually at a rate of 39% instead of 37% now. An additional 2% makes all the difference for the social programs that are needed in this country.

Additionally, tax breaks for these same people will be eliminated or severely limited. It should be criminal for the economic 1% to pay less taxes than the working and middle class families.

As a staggered approach, I fully endorse a constitutional amendment, originally written by Patrick Harris Sr., called CapTheCap, which caps individual wealth at $1,000,000,000 (1 billion).

Universal Healthcare and Medicare for All

Healthcare is a human right not a right only afforded to those with insurance or the money to buy it. A lot of decenters of the idea for Universal Healthcare or Medicare For All argue funding or process. Well if we actually make the rich 1% pay their fair share, or support CapTheCap, we easily could fund it. Additionally, the United States Military, which I call, “The Most Socialist Organization in the United States,” has Universal Healthcare. I’ve spent my entire life on either military healthcare or VA healthcare, as a 100% VA disabled combat veteran. Of course, the military is a smaller demographic, but if they can do it I am sure the richest, most powerful, country in the world can figure it out.

Free and Affordable College

College is way too expensive. In fact, I never would have gotten my Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design if it weren’t for the Post 9-11 GI Bill. You should not have to be in the United States Military for 4 years, on Active Duty Status, to get a college degree. Most people who get an education now leave in debt for decades… that’s not ok.

If we invest in our citizens, they will invest in the United States. It is just that simple.

I propose all 2 year Colleges to be free for your first degree or major certification for a trade school. And all 4 year Universities to be free or drastically cheaper.

Arizona Schools

Arizona schools are funded 49th in the country, and are ranked 51st, after D.C., in terms of education quality. Arizona schools are struggling and that’s not ok. Part of the issue is the inept private school vouchers, but either way something needs to happen.

Arizona schools are mostly a State Legislative issue, but as a Congresswoman, I’d support my State Legislative colleagues in a comprehensive reform of Arizona school funding and school education.

Other Policies I Stand For Include:

1. Minimum wage increased to a livable wage - staggered approach.

2. I fully condemn the genocide perpetrated by Israel against Palestine and Gaza; I pledge to never support the AIPAC.

3. Green New Deal.

4. Bodily autonomy for women and transgender people.

5. The National Defense budget should be lowered; no more wars.

6. ICE needs to be abolished and replaced with a force that respects all people of the US with dignity and respect; abolish mass deportations; create a comprehensive pathway to citizenship.

7. I fully condemn all: islamophobia; antisemitism; xenophobia; homophobia; transphobia; bigotry of religious freedom; bigotry of Native Americans and Indigenous People of the US; and bigotry against the LGBTQIA+2S Community.

8. The death penalty should be abolished, and all prisons will cease operation as a for profit organization.

9. All US citizens deserve a right to vote… period.

10. Drug use should not be criminalized; drug trafficking issues of extremely harmful drugs, e.g. fentanyl, should continue to be addressed.

11. Common sense gun reform.

12. Big money out of politics; repeal Citizen’s United; No insider trading in Congress.

13. Expand the US Supreme Court to 13 members; US Supreme Court is NOT a lifetime appointment; Allow for the removal of US Supreme Court members who show a pattern of partisanship via the powers of Congress.

What Congressional District are you in?
